LAURIE HELLER
How Heller got involved with MInkahz NETs Mission is a testament to Susan Meckler-Plummer’s tireless efforts to help the community. In 2021, Heller’s mother was diagnosed with NETs and she was getting conflicting information from videos, online support groups, and even some doctors. It wasn’t until Susan saw her in a Facebook group asking questions about her mother’s diagnosis that the two fortuitously met. Susan immediately messaged Heller and offered to chat with her for an hour, helping her to understand her mother’s biopsy reports, guided her on what was missing, and aided her with what to ask doctors. Susan provided emotional support along the way — which blossomed into a beautiful friendship. When Heller discovered Minkahz NETs Mission was still in its infancy, she immediately got on board to bring it to life digitally and help with all marketing efforts.
Heller has over 15 years of experience in marketing, having worked at brands like IBM, Keds, JanSport, and others. She’s a NETs caretaker and is incredibly passionate about Minkahz NETs Mission as she understand firsthand what a rollercoaster a diagnosis like this can be. She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her family and runs a boutique marketing consultancy called The Favorite Co.
